  • Small incision cataract surgery with Phacoemulsification techniques used almost exclusively since 1987

  • Foldable Intra Ocular Lens inserted since 1992
  • In the period 1/1/95 to 1/1/2007  well over 6000 cataract and implant operations using small (no stitch )techniques have been performed under topical anesthesia
  • 2003 Cataract Surgery via sub 2mm incisions implanting the First Thinoptic Lens sub 2mm lenses in Australia
  • 2005 Implanted the first Tetraflex Accomodating Lenses in Australia
• Laser refractive surgery
  • Started in 1991 using the Lion's Telco Excimer Laser System
  • Since 2000 using the Tecnolas 217 at the Eye Surgery Foundation to perform PRK, LASEK and LASIK
  • 2003 Began The first World Trials of the Customvis Laser to correct grossly abnormal corneas
  • 2004 Began using Customvis Laser to apply advanced surface ablations
• Implantable Contact Lenses
  • Performed the First implant in Western Australia in July 1997
  • More than 1000 ICL implants performed (Greatest Australian Experience to date)
  • Medical Coordinator of the Australian Trial of the ICL
  • Staar approved teacher of ICL implant technique in Australasia
• Conductive Keratoplasty
  • Performed the first Conductive Keratoplastys for correction of Hyperopia in Western Australia in December 2000
• March 2003 had bilateral Refractive surgery
